Happy new year!

#1 Post by Daffi » Wed Sep 15, 2004 3:52 pm

No, I didn't get the day wrong. in about 30 minutes (after sunset) the new Jewish year will start. So before going to too many family dinners (tonaight at my father in law's, tomorrow at my parent, and yesterday my mother in law came in for some fine whisky), I'd like to wish you a happy year, with many fine remakes (including Dark Castle?).

Shana Tova (happy new year) and Happy Rosh Hashana.
I'm off to dip some apple in honey...

Happy new year.

It's almost halloween as well. That's also a new year celebration, :) we'll be wishing each other happy new year in but a few days again.

The year is 5,675. If only we've had Jewish computers 5 years ago, there would be no need for Y2K panic :D

well, it's written in hebrew latters and not number (the year)

so you may say that this year sounds like "TaShSA"

(the capitals are the latters and the non capital are to make the sound right ... )

actually, it's TaShSAH. the hebrew letter for H stands where E is in Latin alphabeth, i.e as the 5th letter. therefore, you need the H at the end or you'll get "1" insteadof "5" at the end, which would be completely different.
