#1 Post by Angelus3K » Mon Oct 11, 2004 1:57 pm

I couldnt believe it when I heard it on the radio this morning! Superman, gone... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainmen ... 732310.stm.

It says there he died from an infection brought on by a pressure wound. I still cant believe he died at 52 though! That is way young!

Rest In Peace Supe ;)

Can't believe it either. Such a pity that he died so young. :(

That's very sad, but he worked hard to make a full life after that accident. He's an inspiration, for sure.

maybe i'm morbid for noticing this, but that's two graves out of the KQ2VGA which have become, well, true for lack of a better word ... Larmon Ordnab and Christopher Eveers.

Rest in Peace, dude ... he was one of the few celebrities i actually respect.

Shame we can't change the dates without messing up the puzzles.

R.I.P, may he.

This is quite possibly the most crushing news I've ever heard in my entire life. The man was my hero in more ways than one. I was raised on the Superman movies, I lived my life by the morals and ethics those movies set, and when I went back and watched them again a couple of years ago I saw the tremendous acting ability he put into them. His refusal to give up after paralysis inspired me to be a better man and I'll never forget the influence he had on my life. I'd hoped to someday meet him and tell him all of this myself, but now I'll never get that chance.

This is a sad day.

Yeah, well, it's sad, but it was coming.

At least he didn't roll over and die when he became paralyzed, which he had said he thought about. He's an example of how one can live when there seems like nothing to live for.

So superheroes like Superman can die too then. This is the most sad month we have now movie fans. :cry

But atleast Christopher has now angel's wings to fly up to the sky so he can watch over the world and help us to fight the criminal again. :\

Two actors and one actress has now died suddenly. First was the woman who was famous for scream in the Shower "Psyhco" Janet Leigh and then one of most funniest comedy joker Rodney Dangerfield and now Clark Kent or "Superman" I mean Christopher Reeves.

Rest in peace actors and actress and mey your movies always live forever.

PS:When I last saw Christopher Reeves he was a gueststar in Smallville. ;)

The chair of my theatre department said they all die in 3's. Apparently, that's a common actor superstition. When one well-known, renowned, or respected actor dies, you can bet it won't be long until two more join him/her. This time around it was Rodney Dangerfield, Janet Lee (aka Jamie Lee Curtis' mom), and Christopher Reeve. It's saddest with Reeve because he was making serious progress. He was able to move his fingers and had been exercising daily to keep his muscles strong so they wouldn't atrophy, preparing for the day when he could walk again.

What pours the greatest salt in the wounds was that Reeve was slated to guest star on Smallville again well into the year, but now they have to write around his character, which played a huge role in the series during his last appearance where he became part of a huge subplot that had been developing almost since the show's beginning. However, the way they've chosen to write around it (Margot Kidder, Reeve's Lois Lane, represents his character as an emissary to the Kents) is pretty cool, so it's okay.

Also, for American Baseball fans, Ken Caminetti died last night as well from a heart attack. He always had trouble with heavy steroid and drug abuse, so it was only a matter of time. It's sad, he used to be one of the Houston Astros' best players. It's just a sad time all-around.

I was also saddened when I saw this in the paper yesterday. Although it is sad to see him go so young, it was already a miracle that he was given these extra years after his accident. Don't feel too bad for him. He is in a better place where he is happy.
