AGDI at the Movies

#1 Post by Angelus3K » Tue Dec 21, 2004 10:40 pm

Deb and I just got back from seeing "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events".

We both thought it was really good! We haven't read the books but we want to now that we've seen the movie, so I think thats a good thing lol!

What have you guys seen at the movies lately?

Saw Polar Express in 3D. Was fun. Especially the roller-coaster-like bits.

"Saw" was awesome.
"Without a Paddle" was very funny.
"Briget Jones" - fair.
"National Treasure" - Bloody awesome.
"Bad Santa" Funniest movie I've seen all year.
"Anchorman" - Fair.
"Christmas with the Kranks" Very good, love Tim Allen.
"The Forgotten" - Brilliant, worth watching again.
"Suzie Girl" Very Very Funny. Also a little weird.

Thats in the last month or so.

i saw Ocean's Twelve last week ... i never saw Ocean's Eleven, so i was kinda buh in the beginning, but i enjoyed it ... it mean, it was just entertainment, not a movie you watch to find out the meaning of life.

"Saw" - Saw that a couple of nights ago, definitely not too bad.
"Without a Paddle" - Had it moments, but, could've been a bit better IMO.
"Briget Jones" - Chick-flick
"National Treasure" - Not too bad, but a bit hard to follow for those of us who know next to nothing about American history
"Ocean's Twelve" - Plenty of twists, but not as good as "Ocean's Eleven"

"Blade: Trinity" Better than the second, but that isn't saying much. First movie is still the best.

"Flight of the Phoenix" Was much better than what the critics are saying. Just have to see it for yourself. There were a couple of scenes that made me cringe(at the acting), but all in all it was a good movie IMO.

The only movie I've seen recently was Alexander.  The movie was very good, except that the gay love scenes were too timid.  They showed Alexander and Hephastion hugging each other as if they were just friends.  They should have shown the two lovers engaging in wild, passionate kisses, at the very least, or even shown them in bed together.  In contrast, the movie showed Alexander and Roxane romping around in bed in the nude, with Roxane's promanent boobs promanently displayed and bouncing all over the place.  I think Alexander's relationship with Hephastion deserved equal treatment.  A scene late in the movie showed Alexander kissing a male dancer; if he can be shown kissing a male dancer, he at least could have been shown kissing Hephastion.

Otherwise, the movie was great.
