Yep www.agdiforums.com redirected to something called www.toolbarpartner.com and some other things. www.agdiforums.com/forum was fine it was just the main domain that must have been hacked.

There have been several phpBB exploits that can grant access to the entire server. Generally, people who exploit these securiy holes will go for the frontpage, since they expect most people start there.Angelus3K wrote:Yep www.agdiforums.com redirected to something called www.toolbarpartner.com and some other things. www.agdiforums.com/forum was fine it was just the main domain that must have been hacked.
BTW, think you could create a thumbnail of that image or link to it instead? It makes the page scroll at anything below 1280x1024.

I have seen this sort of thing before. However, this incident had a couple of differences.Pidgeot wrote:There have been several phpBB exploits that can grant access to the entire server. 1. There was a blank page. Usually the hacker will put up a page saying who hacked it.
2. Hackers usually don't distribute viruses.

That would depend on the intent of the hacker. If his intent is to destroy or have people run scripts that will give him control over their computers, I could very well imagine this as his weapon of choice.Boogeyman wrote:I have seen this sort of thing before. Besides, I believe Navy is the only one who has access to file-related operations - and you don't really believe HE did it, do you?

Actually, I'm back home right now. This is the first chance I've had to check the forums though.
I don't know anything about a hack, and it's not likely that Erpy or the AGD's did anything. It was more than likely the domain host that caught the intrusion. I'll check with them today after work and see if they have more information.

Just about any attention whore trying to impress someone by using a (probably well-known) exploit. That would explain why the page put up was so untraditional.Boogeyman wrote:Navy certaintly wouldn't have done it. I suspect SIS might have done it, most likely to put Viruses on Fribbi's computer.
I can't imagine who else could have done it, seeing as they clearly had malicious intent.
Angelus, as you should know, Erpy is away in Arizona right now.
I strongly doubt the SIS have anything to do with this, since they created so poor web pages.

Well man, I don't know I think I'd rather get a virus, and wipe it out with Norton than actually have someone trying to kill me. Those years spent in Air Force Cadets come in handy, but it's still never enjoyable to be doing battle at your house. I think I'd rather get a computer virus any day (provided Norton has a patch to wipe it out)
