I need help

I have recovered the lost treasure and do not know what I can do next.  I keep walking through all the scenes and can't find anything new.
I have the golden egg, walnut, etc.
Also, wondering about the shack w' the hungry couple.  I give them cheese and carrots but nothing happens.
Can anyone give me a clue?
Finally, what's the meaning of the note I got from the witch.
Reading backwards the message doesn;t get me anywhere.

Ok first off

Woodcutter and wife:

[spoiler]Did you spot a bowl that says "fill" lying around?  Take it click the hand on it (in inventory screen) and it will fill with porrige.  You can use this on the woodcutters and they give you a fiddle[/spoiler]

[spoiler]The witch's note helps you guess the Gnome's name on the island cut off by the troll bridges.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]If you have all three treasures (chest, mirror, shield) go back to the castle and click on the gate.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]If you haven't gotten the fiddle or guessed the gnome's name you won't have the highest posible score though.[/spoiler]
