Filling the bowl?

I have no idea how to fill the bowl. When I click the bowl on myself, it tells me there is something in the bowl, but I can't read it. At the swamp, south of the woodcutter's house, if click the bowl in open space it tells me the bowl is enchanted and all I need to do is say the magic word. I don't know how to say magic words. I don't have the option of typing commands when I play. Is this normal for the remake, or did I do something wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try looking at the bowl first and then clicking it on yourself.

How do you look at an object that is already in your possession?

Go to your inventory and click the "look" button on it.

I filled the bowl, but now it isn't showing up in my inventory.

Maybe your inventory doesn't fit on one screen. If that's the case, there are arrows on the right side of the inventory to scroll up and down.
