My dad loved it!

Hello world! It's been a while, I was here for a very short time long ago. If you remember me, you get ten points. ;)

I have a story to tell. When I saw that the new version of the King's Quest 1 Remake had been finished and released, I was overjoyed and immediately downloaded it. I loved the new changes and graphics, but what really filled me with joy happened afterwards.

My mom was the one who got me into Sierra games. She used to play King's Quest 5 and 6 (the floppy disk version, on our Pentium 1) and I loved watching her ("Mommy! Play the game with the owl!").

Unfortunately, my mom doesn't like these games anymore, she said. She says that she doesn't want to have to think while being entertained (Coward!).

After unsuccessfully trying to get her to play (upon which I heard the previous ridiculousness), I asked my dad, who agreed to try it out.

With my encyclopedic knowledge of King's Quest I (having played through the original versions many times) and Dad's willingness to think and have fun, we beat the game within two days, and we both loved it! Even though dad didn't care for the original versions with the text parser, he seemed quite adept at the remake. He even mentioned liking John Bell's narration track. I was so happy seeing him play the game with the interest that he showed, and I cannot wait to show him the new version of the King's Quest II remake when it comes out!

So, thank you AGDI, for helping to get my dad into adventure games!

P.S. How Dad remembered how to solve the gnome name puzzle after all these years is beyond me. We got a piece of paper, wrote down the name, and solved the puzzle first try!
