I am getting nothing but a black screen after the disclaimer in Kings Quest I. QFG2 runs fine, however.
I'm running:
Macbook Pro w/ Mac OS 10.5.8
2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
VMWare Fusion 2.0.5
Windows XP Pro SP3
DirectX 9.0c
Black screen after disclaimer

Re: Black screen after disclaimer
You're running the game on a Mac, under an emulator?
It sounds like the game is hanging at the AGDI logo movie which, if you have the latest version of the game (version4.0), is encoded as a Theora file. Earlier versions were encoded as MPEG-1 files which I don't believe are supported on Mac. I am not sure how well Theora movies in AGS handle under emulators.
You might be best off inquiring at the AGS forum from people who have experience running AGS games on Mac with emulators. Alternatively, I hear Wine works pretty well for some AGS games. The AGS technical forum is here:

Re: Black screen after disclaimer
I'm running the game in a Windows Virtual Machine using VMWare Fusion. As far as I know, the game shouldn't know that it's running on a Mac.
I actually solved the problem by changing the Digital Audio Source, so this can be closed.
Thanks for the help!
