My dad gave me a windows 3.1 laptop temporarily. I downloaded the first three, and enjoyed them all. Is this just a cleaned-up vesion (Ex. better graphics/sound, ect), or is it actually different?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

KQ1VGA is "just" a remake. But the enhanced graphics, music, interface and speech definitely make it worth the download.

The Tierra version of KQ2, however, will be much, much more. Completely new plot and lots of stuff added...

If Im right in thinking they used the KQ5 setup and altered it(or mod) to look and play like KQ1, good idea.

of corse they must have done alot of the re-rendering.
But with most of the base progamming out of the way they had more time to think about detail and skill!

A wonderful trait I wish more gamemakers had.

But I did here they were adding New plots?
Like what?
Must you?
or will it make the game more enjoyable?
(I can't wait to see!)

It's not so much that we used the KQ5 setup/engine for KQ1VGA as we used it's interface as a basis for our interface. Our engine is AGS, which is capable of doing a lot of things that the KQ5 (and other later Sierra titles) were capable of doing.

As for KQ2VGA, it's going to blow you away. In addition to realizing the land of Kolyma in 256 colors for the first time, we've taken the liberty of adding a plot and new locations to help flesh out Kolyma. I wish I could say more, but I don't want to ruin the surprise. But I can say this with conviction: KQ2VGA WILL be an awesome game. It's by and far the most ambitious project we are working on at this time and when it's done it will raise the bar on all future KQ remakes.

Neocron
Online Community Director
Tierra Entertainment
