Fill the bowl... not working.

#1 Post by mpmoss » Tue Mar 12, 2002 11:23 pm

In the original and remake, you could fill the bowl with water anywhere water was present. I only get the message "Nothing happens" whenever I make the attempt to fill the bowl near or in any body of water.
Glitch or is there some trick to filling the bowl this time around?

EDIT: Apparently there is... the trick seems to be to fill it at the small waterfall. Clever but a little frustrating when you expect something to work. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/umpmoss.showPu ... >mpmoss at: 3/12/02 5:29:23 pm

The instructions to fill the bowl (by reading the words writeen inside of it) pertain to filling the bowl magically out of thin air. So just clicking the bowl on Graham himself in any screen will do the trick.

how to fill bowl?

#3 Post by glennid10t » Mon Feb 16, 2004 4:53 am

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and i feel a little silly asking this bc'z i'm sure theres a simple solution. However, i've tried everything i can think of including re-downloading complete game and re-starting (twice now). I find the bowl that is supposed to fill with stew, to give to the starving woodsman's wife.... I see there's something written on the bowl, and I've clicked the bowl on graham in every conceivable place, yet still the bowl doesn't fill. What am I don't wrong?
btw, i'm re-discovering the world of computer gaming since i decided it's OK to use my PC for fun since i've already clawed my way up to middle management <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

The bowl

In the AGI game, you could give the woodcutter the filled bowl and they'd be happy. However, you could also give them the empty bowl and then say 'fill' to show them how it works, and they'd be even happier (plus you score more points).
Is this alternate solution still available in KQVGA, because I didn't manage to figure it out.

No and I don't believe this was the case with Sierra's SCI0 remake either. The woodcutter just tells you that an empty bowl won't help.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...
