The slingshot is in a hole in a tree to the screen just south of where the giant wanders. However, since the slingshot is part of an alternative solution to getting the chest from the giant, you will not need it to complete your quest. If you want the points, then go for it, but otherwise, I would say just forget it and move on.

Like I said, it is comepletely up to you whether or not you want to bother getting it. I seem to recall some difficulties finding it myself the first time through.

At any rate, it is not used for anything else in the game, and the method you used to get the chest is the optimal (most points awarded) solution anyway. If you are going for a perfect score, or if you want to see how to use the different options, then you might still want to pick it up. On the other hand, if you don't really care about that, then you can just move on to the next thing. Good luck! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
