Yep, Ong Bak was awesome.

Might go see MI3. It's supposedly a lot better than MI2, from what I've heard.
I just saw MI3 yesterday.  It was pretty alright but i didn't like when she revives him she does it by CPR which only circulates blood it doesn't get the heart pumping again and bring people back to life.  So yeah that was pretty lame i thought.  but overall it was worth seeing
Good movies...where have they gone?

I disliked the DaVinci Code, but MI3 was so silly and predictable.
Today I went to see X-men 3. Well. I had some expectations for this movie, but generally it was a letdown. The characterfocus is totally massacred in this one. It's almost the opposite of the first movie. Almost every character in this movie is a flat one! Cyclops, Jean, Mystique, Iceman, Rogue, Kitty, Colossus, Angel, Beast...we see almost nothing of them (little screentime). We see a lot of Wolverine, Magneto and Storm, but not characterwise. Yeah Psylocke is credited, but has no lines. Pathetic.

Then there's the story...omg.....Jean just stands there doing nothing through the entire movie....
Cyclops...dies after a few minutes of screentime....Xavier....dies after a few minutes of screentime....Jean....just stands there while Magneto moves a bridge....when they attack...even when she's destroying everything that exists....Mystique....turns human after two seconds of screentime....Beast has a somewhat more elaborated role I guess....Angel....his storyline is separate...no interaction with the X-men....Rogue...turns human after two seconds of screentime...Iceman and Kitty have a little bit of a bigger role in the story, but almost no screen time...Juggernaut....nowhere do they explain who he is....Callisto....what is she doing with the story anyway...Multiple Man...just disappears at a given moment....Spike & Arclight die in a Phoenix sigh...and all this in 100 minutes....Colossus...is with the actual X-men but has like two lines.....or something.....Psylocke....don't EVEN get me started....
A girl in my college class was going on about how great X-Men 3 was, only because her dad, Vinnie Jones is in it. Spoilt... female dog?

As a character flick, it's a flaming pile.

As a popcorn flick, it's not that bad.

As a comic flick, it's pretty poor.

And to the comic purist...well, it's not the Dark Phoenix Saga by any stretch of the imagination, so it stinks.

I saw Clerks II at a special screening this week, hosted by the director Kevin Smith.

If you're a fan of Clerks, or The View Askewniverse in general, you'll really love the film.

If you're not, I think you'll still enjoy the film.  It's funny and it has an amazing sense of heart to it.  It was a lot of fun.  It opens July 21st.

X3 wasn't as intense as the first two (no doubt because of the lack of involvement of David Hayter and Bryan Singer), and I thought it had a few odd moments. Other than that, I enjoyed it for what it's worth (not being an X-Men buff). 3.5/5. And did anyone wait until after the end of the credits? ;)
I get the feeling that if they do an X4, the cure will only turn out to be temporary, as hinted at with Magneto and the chesspiece. Would make for an interesting turn of events at the beginning of said sequel. Was also wondering why Nightcrawler didn't make a reappearance in this one, as they didn't explain his absence at all.
Da Vinci Code would probably garner a 3/5 for me, as well.

X men without Snake apparently sucks (David Hayter reference)

Anyways I saw MIII all I really remember is a lot of running. Oh heres Cruise running. ok, here he goes again... I got exhausted just watching, definetly the best action film I've ever seen though, I really liked all of it except the one part at the end. let em put it in short
His wife learns about how to use a gun and Cruise is out of commision so when the baddies come she knows everything about how a gun works even though its her first time touching it and she not only has incredible aiming skills but can PLAY THE FIELD! this is rediculous. if you've ever played paintball then you know ever person playing their first round in the history of ever stays in their one spot and doesnt move from that cover. AUGH she made me mad lol.
Really....you've got to be kidding me....there's this childish flashback scene in which he tells Felicity how she's ready for the field....really....I thought I'd never stop laughing....really sucky.

Post subject:  Replying to Skyshark

I'm repsonding to SkyShark's spoiler statement, so I'm tagging it as well.
Nightcrawler is a man of devout faith; he always has been.  In the X-Men video game that was recently released, during the period between X2 and The Last Stand, he comes to the decision that his faith cannot reconcile with the violent lives the X-Men lead - his pacifism leads him to leave.  Professor X lets him know that he will always have a place at the mansion and then Kurt departs.  The game was actually handled in part by Chris Claremont, so character-wise, it wasn't too bad (though the game as a whole is pretty bad as I understand it).  They even finally incorporated Ororo(Storm)'s claustrophobia, though I doubt they explained it.

As to the cure...yeah, I'm betting it's temporary.  What would be more intriguing would be if it would mutate into the Legacy Virus.  And then there's the question of how they'll bring back all the deceased X-Men, though that's hardly difficult for comics, after all... <grin> The last scene was very intriguing though, and it explained why that "ethical problem" Xavier presented to the students was in the movie at all (besides introducing Moira MacTaggart).
Well. I'm not worried for the next few movies. The different X-men universes are chronologically so inconsistent with the original storyline that nobody cares. Look at the list of characters and the years in which they were first on the actual main X-men team:

Original X-men (1963) : Xavier, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel / Archangel, Beast, Marvel Girl / Phoenix
1966: Changeling
1968: Mimic
1969: Polaris
1970: Havok
1975: Banshee, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Sunfire, Colossus, Thunderbird
1980: Shadowcat / Kitty Pryde
1983: Rogue
1984: Phoenix II (Rachel Summers)
1985: Magneto
1987: Psylocke, Dazzler, Longshot
1989: Forge
1990: Jubilee, Gambit
1992: Bishop
1993: Revanche
1995: Cannonball
1996: Joseph
1997: Marrow, Cecilia Reyes, Maggott
2000: Cable, Thunderbird III, Sage
2001: The White Queen, Chamber, Xorn
2002: Stacy X, Lifeguard, Slipstream, Northstar
2003: Husk, Juggernaut
2006: Mystique

Plenty to choose from, so many timelines to mess up, so little time ;).

and I bet Dumbledor kills Snape... unless you're being truthful. Anywho I saw Pirates of The Carribean and being as I played Monkey Island since my youngest years and I've always had this thing for pirates I sometimes laughed at how innacurate the time frame seems to be, alhough it is entertaining the CG really blows you away from the film with things like:
There goes Johnny Depp to the deck There goes a doll jumping in the water, it was almost as bad as some of the Matrix 2 scenes where the CG look nothing like Keanu Reeves and his coat looks like a soundwave. Swordplay was really neat and innovative though even if the swords were all painfully fake which brings me too the actual performancing of the actors.

The acting was fairly Decent, Sometimes you have a bit of a hard time believing Johnny Depp and his performance isn't as god as the first one but Knightly really steps up to bat in this one. Bloom's is well done but his script really shines out how flat a character he really is and how even with this situational changing around him he's still a very black and white kinda guy. Whomever it was playing our Antagonist though was very believable and possibly had the best performance in the show.

The Plot is what really keeps you going at times, It is by far the number one point of the film. Sometimes you know what wil happen but when you do there's always something distracting inbetween. to explain it better it's not a story like Character A says I'm going to walk to point B and then goes and does it it's more like that but on the way Factor Z get's hit by a car so you don't really remember the foreshadowing or obvious writings. This makes the script very strong in my opinion. Constant throw backs to the older film are what shoots the wtriting in the foot though, throughout the movie we're like O.K! She burnt the rum last film! We get it! but the constant change of scenery keeps you going throughout the film.

All in all a very good film that I would reccomend to most of all ages. Good points being the writing and character portrayel and bad points being the lack of atmosphere especially towards the beggining.

7/10

Deb and I went to see Final Destination 3 (2006) yesterday. We loved the first 2 and this one didnt dissapoint. It didnt have known name actors in it like the other two but that was fine and the actors were really good.

Very gruesome like the other two and it also drew from the prequels as part of the story which was nice.

Bit of a cliffhanger ending so FD4 looks a cert, good film if you like the series.

7/10

Well I just watched Final Destination 3 (2006) today and I must say, awesome film. The deaths were just as gruesome as the others and a good story.

I got the DVD of it which allows you to choose their fate, so bits which could intervene the deaths (such as, honking the horn again at the drivethrough part) chooses whether he lives or dies.

I recall your comment about the cliffhanger part though, Angelus. I wouldn't exactly say the end is a cliffhanger because the premonition shows what happens and this time she has no way of escaping it. Yet a Final Destination 4 would be sweet, I just wonder what they'd base it on. I thought a train would be a good idea yet they use that in FD3... or maybe they'll come up with something completely different.

On another note though, going to see Superman Returns tomorrow, I've heard mixed reviews but I'd rather see it for myself.

I watched United 93 the other night (about the 4th plane). It was gut-wrenching and heart-wrenching. It also scored very highly in imdb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475276/

I recommend.
