OUR Little Miracle

#1 Post by MusicallyInspired » Sun Aug 20, 2006 7:49 pm

Well, Deb and Chris got to have their moment now it's our turn.

Yes, my wife Amanda is pregnant! Actually she's a couple months pregnant already, I just waited to tell you all. We don't know what the gender is yet, but we have our first ultrasound appointment on Sept 7th and hopefully they'll tell us (some of the hospitals around here don't tell you for fear that you'll end up getting rid of it if it's not what you want or something). But, yeah. Happy times!!

I'm already starting to feel old when I hear like 40% of my old primary school class has already settled and started a family. But when the online community around me start following suit, I'm starting to feel ANCIENT!

That aside, I'm very happy for you MI. I'm positive you'll be a great dad. I guess it's only a matter of months before all your free time is spent composing lullabies.

Good deal, dude! I'm really happy for you! Kids are awesome. Families rock. I hope yours becomes everything you want him/her to be.

And Erpy, I know how you feel. I got a MySpace account a few months ago, only to discover that almost every girl I knew in high school already has a kid and is married. One person even found the time to serve 3 years in Iraq alongside marriage and baby-making. I mean, I've only been out of school for 4 years! While I've been going crazy at University, they've been making families. It's just mind-blowing.

EDIT: Wow, I totally forgot I already told that story in the other Little Miracle thread. Heheh, oh well. It still pertains, so I shalt leave it!

Congratulations man. Expose Amanda to a lot of Bach and Mozart and your baby will be a natural musically inpired! (No kidding, but haven't tried this with Mike Oldfield!  ;) ).

Hi everyone this is Amanda, Brandon's wife.  Thanks for all the congratulations, greatly appreciated.  Hard to believe that in just a few months I will have a child in my arms.  I am hoping for a girl but a boy would be fun too.  I know thats what Brandon wants.  Just in a few more weeks we should know just what it is.  then we can start all the fun planning and buying of new clothes and things.  Well I think I am looking forward to that more than Brandon is but thats understandable being a guy and all.

As far as bach and mozart.  Our baby will be listenting to that and more, some of Brandon's music of course and Brandon's fav. Mike Oldfield.  We will have quite and artist on our hands.  We also make sure that it hears lots of poetry and stories so not only will it be a good musician but a writer too. :)

We also have names picked out already.

Boy:  Aidan Fredrick Blume
Girl:  Brianna May Blume

Well thanks again.

Welcome to the forums Amanda, and congratulations once again. You know, I'm not familiar with english names (I'm from Mexico) but they don't seem to be common names. Good ones, anyway (Any relation with Queen's Brian May? I really love Queen.) Cheers.

No, May was the middle name of Amanda's aunt. And yes we like uncommon names :).

Interesting. You've chosen two first names from Hero6's characters. Oops. I'll shutup now.

Great to hear. Congrats you two!

Well already a bunch of people are giving us things for the baby. So far we got a crib, a high-chair, a car-seat multi-task thingie, and some clothes, I believe. The crib and blankets and stuff were gonna go to my cousin who got married recently but they took too long to have a baby so now mom is giving it to us :D. Now if by some miracle we could get out of debt and get a bigger place to live (with internet, preferably) we'd be laughing. Right now we're just sort of...chuckling...to ourselves.

...I'm so witty.

it may sound unmasculin but my favorite thus far has been Moonlight Shadow I simply love the rythym to it and all the stuff going on in the background that you only notice if you're paying attention

Not surprising. It's the most popular of his songs. One of my favourites, too. That's one thing Mike is good at, putting lots of goodies inthe background.

I prefer the instrumental works, though. Taurus 1 & 2, The Songs of Distant Earth, Crises, The Lake, etc. There's even more background stuff in those since there are no lyrics to hog all the spotlight :D.

I'm a big fan of songs that have something to say though, it's like watching a movie when ever you hear it.
