monk in church

monk in church
I know I am suppose to give the monk something but nothing in my inventory works in or around the church. I also haven't found the little girl. I spoke to grandma but just wander around. I do have the needle but I put it in the reed. Was that wrong. Please direct me to what is next. Thanks in advance.

There are no dead ends in KQ2+. So don't worry about getting stuck.
