[spoilers] Can't get past the snake

I got the carpet, flew up the mountain and have been using the opal to charm the snake. It works for like 1 second! I'm at a loss here as to what to do. Maybe I missed something earlier?? Help please!

Oh that can affect it? I would think that he would move faster too so it'd all be relative. I'll give it a try though. Thanks!

It worked! Thanks for the suggestion! Now I've made it through the sky scenes..on to the tree house, cottage and swamp!
