Just beat game! =) Comments and questions (couple spoilers

#1 Post by Envisaged0ne » Sun Jan 05, 2003 4:55 am

I just beat the game and have to say that it's easily my most favorite king's quest yet. I actually beat it once, then played it again right after to get a higher score. I finally finished with a 182.

** Spoilers... **

The only, I guess suggestion, I would make is to have a clue to how to get the library card signed when you're trying to use the pen on the desk and the librarian is looking. Maybe say something like "it's not safe to try to sign it when she's looking right at you"...That was actually the hardest puzzle for me to figure out. I got it signed by mistake by just trying over and over again in frustration because I just knew that it had to work lol. All the others had very good clues to what to do...I just felt that one was kinda weak in comparison. But I'm not by any means griping...just my 2 cents.

Also, I read on the boards that there were multiple ways of defeating Hagatha. I only figured out the one way (using the youth potion). I was hoping to get a hint on some other ways she could be defeated. I'm probably going to go back and play it again from the beginning and try to figure out where I could get all the points. It's well worth playing again.

Click the lion fur on Graham for a hint.

As for the librarian, if you look at her, you'll already get a message tell you that she seems to lose concentration every now and then. Seems like a hint to me.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...

Reminds me of Discworld

#3 Post by dreammaster » Sun Jan 05, 2003 6:54 am

<spoilers>

The Discworld game was the first game I played after finally migrating to graphic adventure games from text adventure games. One of the puzzles was similiar to that of signing the card - obtaining a rod of tumultuous thurmatology from a wizard, by swapping it with a mop. I never realised that a graphic puzzle could in fact also depend on time, being so used to the "turns" of text adventure games. I finally had to get some help before I was able to solve that puzzle. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Check Erpy's post for another solution for Hagatha, although the youth potion is the highest scoring method. Good luck getting all the points! I had to try three times to get it.
