Easter Eggs

#26 Post by anathoth8 » Sat Feb 08, 2003 8:46 am

Awww, Erpy. I was looking through the walkthrough for easter eggs and such, and I found you left out a good one. If you use the hand on certain plants in the area (at the swan pond at least) sometimes you will get a message saying, "They're drawn on, so they cannot be moved. Wait for the 3D version." I thought that one was pretty funny. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br><br>Good job, overall, though! <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :D --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br><br><br>Edit: Erpy doesn't like my suggestion. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START |I --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /tired.gif ALT="|I"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> Oh well, of course I respect your opinion. I also found that one, but I that message wasn't truly a reference. Just a funny message. And I'm not gonna start listing all funny messages in the game.<br><br>(ever tried talking to the bushes in the screen of east of Hagatha's cave?)<br><br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashm ... <!--EZCODE IMAGE END--> <p></p><i></i>

KQ2VGA point list

#28 Post by mmp43 » Thu Feb 13, 2003 8:08 am

Thanks so much for finally creating the point list! I never knew there was a note in the bottom of the nightingale cage! Wow! I wondered where that last point was!<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :p --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p></p><i></i>

walkthrough

#29 Post by waycomp2002 » Sun Oct 26, 2003 7:13 pm

It's not really a real walkthrough it's more like a hint file that's rally vauge on alot of points like how to get past the ghost. It was helpful alot but I still haven't beaten the game yet. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :cry --><img src=http://users.domaindlx.com/broomie/cry.gif ALT=":cry"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :o --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> Help Please. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :\ --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p></p><i></i>

Re: walkthrough

#30 Post by Erpy » Sun Oct 26, 2003 8:41 pm

The vagueness is on purpose. I believe that in order to enjoy an adventure, the player should do as much of the puzzle solving and thinking as possible without resorting to walkthroughs immediately. The first time you play through an adventure is the most enjoyable time, because everything's new. After beating it, you already know all the puzzles, so the puzzle solving aspect is killed off. That's why I'm vague.<br><br>BTW, you need to get past the ghosts twice; once in front of the castle and once in the graveyard. Could you mention which one? And could you create a separate topic for it?<br><br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ... <!--EZCODE IMAGE END--> <p></p><i></i>

Walkthrough ?

#32 Post by hejacob » Wed Jun 02, 2004 1:26 am

It is really not what I consider a real walkthrough, and sure this particular program is rather new. It is alsounderstandable that there is quite a lot missing as in a true walkthrough, but it will give youe some hints, although vague.
It is however very good for someone new to at least have a general idea what is going on, but it certainly is not a walkthrough in my opinion, and please, no offense intended.

You will find two versions to make it through the game in Erpy's Guide.

There are hints, and then there's a solution / points list. The solution / points list really isn't that vague, it's usually quite specific.

If you don't call the solution a walkthrough, I don't know what else you would.

Having it all spread out I guess without the expanding topics?

If you really need to be led through the game on a leash, check out this site, which someone obviously put lots of time into (though you'll need to speak... is that Swedish?)

I can't find the possum... I have done everything I can without finding it. Where is the POSSUM?

Firstly, Possum isn't a possum. She's a little girl. She'll appear in different locations depending on where in the game you are. How far along are you? I'm guessing you're towards the beginning.

It's been a while since I played, but I believe Possum appears 1 screen south of Hagatha's cave. She appears randomly, so you might have to enter and exit that screen a few times.

First of all, you want to get those gems out of the dwarf's reach, but not out of his sight.

(ah, and please don't double-post. You can edit your own messages.)

In this case, I think it's understandable. His posts were almost 2 weeks apart.

Well thanks for the limited help, I finished the game and had fun doing it. Thanks Navynuke for responding to my posts and thanks Erpy for making an interesting walkthrough.
(I hope this doesn't count as a double post)

Glad you liked the game!
Double posting is when you make a post one right after the other. Seeing as nearly two weeks went by, I wouldn't consider your previous post to be a double post. Your last post isn't a double post either.
Hope you'll stick around and play QFG2VGA when its ready!

small key...

#44 Post by Punky Elfic Bard » Wed Oct 13, 2004 9:00 am

i seem to be stuck in KQ2 for a long time, now... I can't find the small key to unlock the nightingale cage. I read the walkthrough yesterday and it told me that the key was inside a cloak...well, i've searched the cloack but still no key... :-(

Odd. It should be in the cloak, which is in Hagatha's cave. Try clicking on it again?

It's either in the cloak or already in your inventory. Sometimes you have to scroll in your inventory to see all the items you have.

Getting through the swamp

#47 Post by applekisses » Mon May 09, 2005 10:30 pm

Hi , im new here, but have always been a fan for kings quest series.
ok , my problem is getting through the swamp.my poem on the bible page reads as follows: Seems Every Song Ever Sung Waxes Nostalgic With Someone. now i have followed the directions, but i still seem to be going in circles. in the walkthrough it says the first screen counts thats why the poem always starts with an "s",but on the first screen outside the swamp(before going in there) you can only go east,so do i begin from the east part of the poem ? please help, i am so stuck after such a great run on this game and this is the only walkthrough that made sense to me. thank you in advance

Start following the poem on the first real swamp screen (i.e. go east from the screen you're talking about, then start with the poem).
