OK! TODAY I FINISHED KQ2VGA again. This would be my second time playing it with voices, and I've to say that now it sounded much better than the first time with voices. As AGD1 said.

YET, I think that criticism should be more welcomed.

I have some questions about easter eggs and diferent solutions in version 2.0. Is there a non violent way to defeat the wolves at the crossroads outside the church? I thought I heard somewhere that there is a way to get past them without killing them. Are there any other easter eggs or hidden surprises, differences, in the new version with the voices?

Yeah, there's another (fairly obscure) solution to the wolf encounter at the crossroads. It involves an extra item that wasn't in the game before. You'll need to get it before visiting the church, but after your first confrontation with the Count.

As for easter eggs, I don't think so. Unless you count that classic line when trying to kill Valanice.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

What!?! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> You've never seen the "Madness of King Graham" easter egg? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

Go play the cloud spirit test section again. After answering correctly on the first two tests ("Sacrificial Lamb" and "Severing the Lifeline"), you will receive a third option on the third test. Choose "The Madness of King Graham" to be greeted by what is arguably the funniest easter egg in the game.

"May the way of the hero
lead to the Triforce."

Erpy, go ahead and spoil me. I can't find this item your talking about, I've looked everywhere, the count's castle, graveyard and around the woods. Where is it?

Well, it isn't there. It's something that wards off wolves. Who USED to be the appropriate person to have such an item?

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashn ...

Hmmm...

If you keep them in separate directories, you can have both v1.1 and v2.0 on the same system at the same time. I don't know why you'd want to, though. I would advise uninstalling v1.1 since v2.0 has all the latest updates and bug fixes as well as voice pack support, so it wouldn't really have any benefit keeping v1.1 on your system after that.

~Wolfgang

Music Pack

#42 Post by Kijyata » Thu Apr 17, 2003 8:24 am

Do I need to re-download the music pack for it to work with 2.0?

No.

There's no new music pack; the old one will do just fine.

i downloaded 2.0 and voice pak last night while i slept "dial up" and started the game again first thing this morning . the voice acting is cool, i really like the mama pumken voice she sounds like Edith Bunker. it shouldn't take long to get back to the point i was at in the old version i had just completed the under sea part and got the "trident" cool looking sharks too. this is my first time playing kq2 vga and have never played sierras kq2. i've payed big bucks for games that never delivered the goods like this game. now back to the game find out what that carpet is for.

Speech Pack

#46 Post by Rebelteen » Tue May 27, 2003 7:34 pm

I can't say enough about Tierra. So I won't bother, it would take forever. Anyway, I've got KG2 v2.0, and the speech pack, but there is only speech in the cutscenes. What's up with that?

There is speech for the cutscenes and any line that is spoken by any character. Normal dialogues (like Graham talking to Possum, for example) have voices. There is, however, only text for the narration, if that's what you mean.

~Wolfgang

What's your definition of cut-scenes? To clarify; only the actual characters are voiced. There's no narrator who speaks the messages you get when clicking the various cursors on objects on the screen.

<img src="http://members.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nas ...

Clarity

#49 Post by Rebelteen » Tue May 27, 2003 7:58 pm

By cutscene, I mean the introduction and ending sequence. There may have been a few other instances that I heard voice overs after installing the speech pack, but I'm not sure. Are there any known problems with v2.0 and the speech pack?

It's working correctly now that I started over. I guess that makes some sense.
