I can't get the glowing gem into the left skull. It just keeps telling me that the stone will fit, but I don't really want to manipulate anything...HELP

You need to "persuade" the gem to fit with a blunt, heavy object. If you don't have one yet, you'd do well to search the forest.

I have the mallet, etc. When I try to put the gem into the eye socket, I get this message. The Birth Gem might fit into the skulls eye socket, but you have no desire to manipulate anything in this area unless abolutely necessary.

Go check the town first. Graham won't want to (or be able to) get into Hagatha's cave until you know there's something in there that you need. You've got the right idea, just try again later.

In that case, Graham can't think of a reason to enter Hagatha's place. No sane person would bother entering there without at least an important reason to be there.

It just means that this is not the correct time to go there. I doubt Hagatha has any mountain climbing equipment to sell you anyway.

I am in the same place and already have the request to bring back bird I also have the Mallet. Same message can some one help?
