It was good I just think it was a little too much contrast on the shading. It'd work if they were in a dark alley with a bright spotlight shining on them, but for a wide-open desert sky lighting themed scene a little softer shading works better.

This coming from somebody who knows squat about art.

Lol at the text parser cartoon.

I remember when I was a child and tried to light a candle in Dracula's castle in KQ2. I really don't know how I even got that far, but I couldn't figure out how to command Graham to do it. Frustration. Only several years later I discovered the correct command was..."light candle" or something simple.

Sorry for the delay, My scanner totally broke so all you get are rough sketches.
In case you couldn't guess. I usually play a thief.

Hope you get the references. (And if you like I'll post more once my scanner boots back up.)

Awww come on haven't you read the manuals that come with the games?

Honestly? No.

My dad would play these games with us (my brother and I) when we were about 4 or 5. At that time we couldn't read... and by the time that I WAS able to read, I'd just ask him for help whenever I reached a point I couldn't figure out.

You should find a copy of FAMOUS ADVENTURER'S CORRESPONDENCE SCHOOL manuals from each of the games, funny stuff... Here is what it says about the Thief Sign from the first game's manual.
FACS wrote:To identify yourself as a Thief, you must make the proper 'Thief Sign'. This consists of placing your thumb upon your nose with the hand held perpendicular to the face and the fingers outspread. You then wiggle your fingers while focusing your eyes on your thumb and patting your belly with the other hand. This is the proper way to greet a fellow follower and still retain your pocket money.
edit: BTW love the rough sketches Lady Pyro keep them comming. :D

Love the sketches. Picking your nose and making the sign can get you some pretty funny reactions in QFG2, btw.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I have two more done up (with some more obscure in game references) that I'll post as soon as my scanner stops being a dick.
^.^
I'm not very good at colouring but I probably will clean the whole set up into line art eventually.

I'm hoping one of your next ones is the hero sucking a blue frog. *grin*

Obscurity for the win.

Holy sheep dip Bathman! Those are good! Those scanners can sure be obstinate, though. Is that why they're green?

Here's a little fan 'art'. Not very conventional though, based on "Mr Zebra" by Tori Amos. It's about a hero who is frustrated because he forgot to say goodbye, and thereby doomed an entire city... :lol

http://rapidshare.com/files/133651367/M ... s.mp3.html

Lyrics:

Hello Mr. Sau-aurus
Can I ride your saddle
'Cause it's cold, cold, cold
In the desert night
Bring me straight to Keapon Laffin'
Sometimes he's a friend of mine
With a gigantic whirlwind that will blow your mind

Hello Mr. Sau-aurus
Ran into some confusion with a Mrs. Azizazaza
Forgot to say goodbye to her
She thinks she's Icebella!
Or a civillized element to blow your mind

*sigh*

Figure it out, she, she is a good time fellow
She's got a little gold to live her solitary life
Figure it out, she, she is a good time fellow
Too bad Shapeir is utterly doomed by it somehow...

Haha thanks! They're actually green because I actually drew them with a green pencil. I do a lot of animating so I tend to sketch in lighter colours then go over in regular graphite or ink.
In this case I didn't really get a chance to do either before my printer/scanner transformed into a giant grey doorstop.

I know, I totally sound like I know what I'm doing but don't be fooled. I just stumble around (artistically) until something works for me.

I knew from the moment you logged on here there was something fishy about you Miss Pyro. It's no wonder you play a thief... Those are concept-art quality. You're a professional sketch-artist! :rollin

And you animate! You have the full skillset at your disposal. <bowing at your feet.>

Incredible Incredible Incredible artwork. I love them both.

Do you have a digital camera? You could use that instead of a scanner.

I do but at this point most camera phones are more advanced then it. I really only use it to get low quality referance pics, everything else comes out as a fuzzy mess.
Don't worry, I'll scan more if I can get to my sister's place later this week (hopefully).

Those drawings are great! Nice cartoon-like style, and very reminiscent of the Curse of Monkey Island. Actually makes me wonder what a Quest for Glory game would look like if it was created with LucasArts-style cartoon graphics and animation. Do you have any of your animations online?

Some neat QFG artwork in this thread all around.

Unfortunately No. I had some of my online resume for a while, but once I got a few professional gigs I didn't bother maintaining the site. Everything else I'm afraid I'm not allowed to post online due to copyright issues and all that legal jargon.
But if I get around to making anything in my free time (what little isn't spent drawing) I might consider showing it off :) But right now I'm afraid you'll have to suffer through obscure jokes and quick sketches.

By the way Spikey, I like your song lyrics. I haven't been able to listen to the song itself yet but I like the lyrics themselves.

I thought those sketches and animations on your site are pretty good. :)
I like the 3D Thriller animation. :p

Edit: Perhaps post the above pictures on one of your galleries and mention the game release... then you've done your public service for the month! :D

Edit2: Uhm.... when will we be seeing new pics LadyP? :)
