Hey I've never played a qfg game before, am i going to be confused jumping into the second one when it comes out? Should I find a copy of the first one?

It might seem a little strange. It is almost like coming in on the second part of a movie (like watching The Two Towers before Fellowship of the Ring), but they explain everything that happened I think. Which isn't that much. And if they didn't all you really need to know is that you saved a land from evil and moved on to another one.

Yeah, you should. Not only does it allow you to start QFG2 with a pretty big advantage, but the QFG-series is probably the one series you really need to play in chronologic order to get the full experience.

There is no need to play the first Quest for Glory before playing Quest for Glory II. In the last game you saved the land of Spielburg from a horde of brigands, and that the Innkeepers, Shameen and Shema, and the merchant Abdulla Doo take you to Shapeir for your next quest. I do highly recommend playing the first game. :D

So basically, it's not needed but highly recommended.

It will take some time, but you can just refrain from playing Qfg2 until you do finish.

Dunno. If you want to play the series from beginning until the end, that shouldn't matter.

Ummm my guess would be yes if you cheated and used a walkthrough... But then you would take away most of the fun factor from the game making it less worth it. Plus you might not have the time to properly train your character to give yourself a big advantage for Quest for Glory II. Take your time with Quest for Glory I to fully enjoy it, I bet Quest for Glory II VGA will be around once you complete the first one ;)

You can actually finish the game quickly since you only have to finish that one part, but then you won't experience the whole game like you should.

There are quite a few references to the first game in QFG2VGA. Even more than the original QFG2. So if you're not gonna play QFG1 first, you're probably better off not playing QFG2VGA through as thoroughly as possible as to avoid getting spoiled.

Translation: You will get the most out of Quest for Glory 2 VGA if you play the first Quest for Glory game. Are the easter eggs in QFG2VGA for Quest for Glory 1 for the EGA, VGA, or general release of the game?

But it's hard for us to estimate how long "one part" takes for someone who is totally new to the series, since we've been playing it for like.....eons...and eons....and on....

I would strongly recommend playing the first one it really only takes the better part of a day to beat if you use the walkthrough to get the gist

QfG1 isn't available for free download, and it hasn't been sold for a long time. You'll have to try to buy a used copy if you want to play it.

I have a good question, I think...

Will the ending credits feature a "To be continued in QFG3: Shadows of Darkness" reference? :D

Sure can't wait for this.

You have the talented Michael Freeman (also known as "DrawAllDay) to thank for the beautiful artwork. Isn't it flawless? ;)

Edit: btw, do you happen to have any non-widescreen versions of it?

I'd say it was equally unfair of you to come out and say it's a waste of time after he's put so much effort into it. Especially considering you're one of only two people who seem to think so. You're also ruining it for everybody else. If you don't like it keep quiet. Or at least wait until a significant number of people start giving the same complaints.
