undead unguent in QFG2
I noticed that for some reason I transitioned to QFG2 with undead unguent in my inventory. I've never noticed that before (at least not in my copy of th eEGA version, but I havent played in awhle.)

Yup, it's a newly imported item in the remake that didn't import for the EGA version. It only imports into the remake if you had some unguent in your inventory at the end of QFG1, though.

That's a great touch. Is it actually worthwhile? I mean, does it have an effect in combat against ghouls?

Neat! I'm running a new character I plan to max out in the EGA version to fool around (aside from my "official" character.) I'm gonna try fooling with diff items and see what I can and can't import :P

*sigh* Back to QfG1VGA and I haven't even gotten deep into the game yet. Geez.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Hey, you're the brainiac... figure it out!Brainiac wrote:That's a great touch. Is it actually worthwhile? I mean, does it have an effect in combat against ghouls?

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
I rustled up a Ghoul on my first day and tested it out in combat using that single Unguent I have. Yes, it does have an effect against Ghouls - specifically I noticd it wasn't draining my stamina as rapidly as without. Not sure if it affected physical damage, since the bloody thing surprised me with a few attacks (icky!)
Hope that helps Brainiac :P

Okay, so there is an effect and...
...so it's 100 gold in Spielburg to have one unguent for each ghoul that's worth the trouble. Oh. Joy.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Harik will accept 5 scorpion tails and 10 ghoul claws before he stops giving you pocket money.
You know, if this was one of those "pay for the extras" online games, I'd probably go broke.Daniel06 wrote:oh, You can also buy boots from the leather merchant. They protect you when youre fighting Ghouls, as the acid they spray out cant hurt you.

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
actually its 100 silver, so only 10 gold per unguent.
Harik gets you 30 gold for 2 claws (2 per Ghoul IIRC) so that's 5 ghousl you have to fight. 10 claws = 150 gold. Minus 5 ghouls (5 unguents) thats 100 gold :P

Ah, I forgot it's two claws per ghoul. So yeah, it would only be 50 gold instead of 100 total in Spielburg to buy enough Undead Unguent.Jack Sawyer wrote:actually its 100 silver, so only 10 gold per unguent.

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
Mind you, its still a bit crazy to do, but it could very well be a blessing for Thieves and Magic Users (esp thieves) since it gives them a good source for extra cash (easier than Scorpions at least.) The stamina loss isn't likely to harm a fighter as much, but it might do more for a thief or mage, esp on higher levels.
Re: undead unguent in QFG2
In the remake, ghouls no longer just drain stamina. They leech health AND stamina and convert that into mana points. (most of the time, sometimes he turns it into health points instead)

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
huh. didnt notice the health loss. Does the unguent protect against both then?
Re: undead unguent in QFG2
Go ahead and give it a try.
