Right at the end.....(fighter)

Hey guys
Ive gotten right up to the part at the end where you run into the room, escape combat with the stone thingy... knocked over a candle and surrounded him with flames.... Then when i go to knock him over the cliff like in the original (sorry if ive spoiled the ending!! >.<) he blasts me with an electric shock or i get too close to the flames around him... Am i missing something?
