So, I'm getting pretty far, I'm on day 6, but I'm abit confused. There seems like alot of days where nothing happens, no ones giving me any quests to do. I kind of understand the first 2 days, so you can find everything (though I think I did it all on day 1). Other than the fire elemental attack, I eat breakfast, run around the town and talk to everyone only to find they say the same things, then just train with Urutha all day, sleep, then repeat. I'm getting alittle tired of grinding, and with each passing day I'm afraid they are giving me all this time to do something bigger that I haven't exactly figured out. If not that, my only guess is I'm suppose to train for when the caravan is ready, but thats still 6 more days away, a long time.. :\

Am I on the right track, or is there some adventuring I'm missing out on (without spoilers if you can ;) )?

it's how the game works pretty much. keep in mind you can train any of your skills on off days. but think about the original having to allow time for puzzles and such when there was no walkthroughs anywhere.

Yes, there is a lot of padding to allow plenty of time for training. There's up to a handful of new stuff to check out almost every day, too. See here if you want to be spoiled by a list: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12481

Ok, thanks. I never played the original QFG2, but in the first you didn't have to wait for anything as I remember.. I'm more for the puzzles than the fighting, even though its 100 times better in this one. Killing to continue on was cool, but killing to pass the time gets old. Some side quests to do for extra buffs or gear while your waiting would've been cool, and hey, if you don't finish them all in time, you can do them the next time you play. I don't mean to bitch and moan, I'm still having fun with it. I understand you guys are making QFG2 exactly how it is in the original, so I'll shut up. :p

Edit: Oh. Read the first 6 days. Looks like thieves get to do some extra stuff. Thats what I get for being fighter.. I might try them next time.

QFG2 is unique in that it's on a rigid clock. The bad guys have their plans in progress, and the game proceeds at THEIR pace, not yours. They're not waiting around for you to reach some particular goal to launch the next phase of their plans.

You have sixteen days to prepare your character for the endgame, because on day 17 you pretty much will have no further chance to train anything. Use your days wisely, and get as much stats as you can, especially if you plan to bring it into QFG3.

However, there really isn't that much pressure for the stat maxing. I maxed absolutely everything on my thief by day 11, and I wasn't really super-optimized there. So I spent the last few days either killing things I didn't need to kill or just sleeping. It's probably more fun if you space things out so you still have things to do on the last days.

there are not any uneventful days... at least if you are thief, you can have your first mission on day 2 or 3, 4, 5, 6, ...

but as I said, warriors are disadvantaged and least funny, there are not many events or enjoyable quests for them
