So I have the pot and the katta says he will give me some earth but when I try to use the pot on him i get nothing even tried the basket and no luck.

She will only give it to you if you ask when the time is right.

Asking about the dirt isn't enough, you must inform the merchant why you need it.

I am a wizard and now i need the earth and have spoken to Keapon about air elementals and mud and Lasham still just says he will give me some earth but no matter what I say to him he won't give me anything.

Air Elemental? What Air Elemental? Is one currently ravaging the city?

Did Keapon already give you fooler's dirt?

No said he didn't have any but I talked to him again and this time it finally gave me the option to tell about air elemental.

I had this problem.

The Air Elemental was attacking the city, I had spoken to Aziza about it, and had spoken to Keapon as well. The game didn't seem to want to let me tell the merchant why I needed the dirt.

The problem was solved simply by taking a quick visit to the Palace plaza to see the thing first.
