Roget the Saurus :D

#1 Post by FamousAdventurer77 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 2:58 am

Aww. I just think the Saurus is cute as a button. The way it licks your face when it's happy to see you, winks after battle, and the *gronk* noises...aww. Makes me want a giant lizard even more!

That good-for-nothing, waste of dinars gets lost in the desert even more than me.

When I heard the guard telling me not to worry, that most sauruses return themselves to the stables, I knew I would have to go after him. Doesn't surprise me any bit he was the last saurus in the shop.

Yeah, I also find him adorable. :D

not to mention a coward!

Still - for 5 dinars and free stabling, not a bad deal - i guess . . .

The Groucho Marx lookalike will settle for 5 dinars if you just keep on bargaining...

Don't know if you peeps completed the game/got to the pre-Rasier part,

but remember something Abdulla says about someone deposed who "loves you like a brother but is cowardly"? It makes sense that he runs in battle...! :)

But it would be a great addition to the game if you have a character weak in Strength/Weapon Use/Etc. if the Saurus Repair Shop actually WORKED-- like if you paid the surly mechanic a few dinars to make Roget fight for a bit; the same way that Mirak's boots last a few Ghoul battles then you have to resole them. You know, a nice little side feature to the game that isn't necessary for enhancement/completion similar to the warrior's diary and the x-ray glasses (which I don't care about since I'm a lady :lol

Still. I love giant lizards and it's just super cute. Gronkety gronk! :p

The bargaining window doesn't open when I click the gold on him. It just says I pay the price he offers me. I didn't know you could buy it cheaper. :cry

Still, good times. I talked to him with the x-ray glasses on, and he said something really funny about my face. :)

You can still say yes and no when he asks if you want to buy a saurus and then asks if you want to settle for 50 bucks.

And you don't need a high Communication skill to haggle that low?

I'll keep that in mind when I start a new game, so I can totally splurge all the cash on cool stuff for the room, and on the many many healing & magic pills needed. Gronk!

Communication skill is irrelevant here. It's not a typical bargaining session. It's haggling with a second-hand used saurus salesman who knows exactly what he's selling you.

I'm not sure about that, if he knew exactly who he was selling me he might have charged more.

Only if you're using the point-and-click. Using the combo or parser you need to type "bargain", he won't do his sales pitch.

In the combo/parser mode, you can still type "yes" or "no" to get through the same sequence.

The lowest I was able to haggle him down to was 10 dinars...but aww. What a great Saurus. Who cares if it can't fight, it's too damn cute to be stay mad at. :D
