Buy 3, get one free

I have a lot of questions about bargaining, I guess.

In the EGA version, if you bargained with the apothecary for any sort of pills, he'd sell you four for the price of three. Is this possible in the remake as well, besides the obvious solution of bargaining the price down to 75%? (My communication skill isn't high enough to do that, I'm afraid.)

Really? Hmmm... can't even remember that in the original... are you sure?

Yes, in the original, Harik did not give you a discount, but gave you an extra pill for free. However, since QFG2VGA no longer used set discounts and since the "same price, upped quantity" couldn't be fit into the bargaining system very well, I decided to drop it and just let the player bargain for the price like he does with all items.

Thanks, Erpy.

Time to find out how high my communication has to be to bargain Harik's prices down to 3/4, I guess...

If your communication is high enough, you can make first offers that will be accepted of up to 40% off. (Go any lower than that, and you'll have to haggle and finish at a higher price.)

I forgot about the 4 for the price of 3 business. Good point, Paviel. It did lend some variety to the bargaining process, but I do feel that the new system is better. And it still lets you get the incense for free.
