Ad Avis and his candles

One question.
Can you knock over one of Ad Avis' candles by simply clicking either the walk or hand icons on one of those candles?

If you're playing the thief and you used the rope to get across, you'll always have to throw rocks and daggers in order to knock down a candle.
On the other hand, if you're in the ritual chamber with Ad Avis, then you can either throw a projectile/cast a spell at the candles, run into them to knock them down, or pick them up (provided you're standing close enough).
