Importing issues to QFG3

I finished QFG2 and saved my character. However when I looked in the game directory, i could not find it. In fact could not find it on my computer. I went back to my last save point and beat it again. I entered a different name and saved it and still I could not find it. Any ideas of what happened or what i need to do? Thanks!
