Launcher.exe should be located in the directory where you installed the game. There should also be a link to it in the "AGD Interactive>Quest for Glory II" Start Menu Programs Group.

Did you download the game from our own site at www.AGDInteractive.com or from elsewhere?

If you still can't find the Launcher.exe file, I'd recommend uninstalling the game, redownloading, and reinstalling it again, directly from our site. Although, the launcher isn't necessary to play the game. You should simply be able to run the Qfg2vga.exe file from the game directory to play it.

Which operating system are you using?

Also, do you have any resident anti-virus or anti-spyware programs installed?

Is it possible that McAfee is detecting the .exe files as a false positive and deleting/quarantining them? I know that in the past, over-aggressive algorithms of some anti virus/spyware programs have sometimes been known to auto-delete files.

The .exe files are definitely included in the installer. So, if you have tried redownloading the game from our website and the .exe files are still not present, the only thing I can think is that some process or program on your side is deleting or renaming them.

I imagine that you can see other .exe files for other programs and run them?

If you click the Start button and then go to "Search>Programs or files" and then type Launcher.exe or Qfg2vga.exe, do any results appear?

Hmmm, strange. It seems that the files are only being partially extracted or something. Whether this is due to an incomplete download or something on your system altering the files, I can't be sure.

If you right-click on the Qfg2vga11.exe file you downloaded from our site, and then click on Properties, the filesize in the top entry should say 85.3 MB (89,487,540 bytes).

If it's anything other than that, your download has probably not completed correctly and you'll need to download the file again and make sure it's the correct filesize before installing the game.

This appears to be a quirk of the ClickTeam Install Creator pro, which was used to build the installer for the Quest for Glory II remake.

You can read more about it in this thread on their Technical Forum.

It suggests that the filenames are named with the .$$a extension if they're in use and that rebooting should rename them to their proper extensions. If that doesn't work, just keep trying to install the game and it might install properly after a few tries. Maybe try installing it in a directory other than the "Program Files" directory and see if that makes any difference.

I might recompile the installer with InnoSetup at some point to prevent this problem from occuring.
