building magic stats for QFG4 import - what happens ?

hi there

im intending to play my magic user in QFG2 remake and then import straight to QFG4

I'm wondering what happens to spell skill on your imported character - if they are below the minimum that the magic user would start with on a new character, does it get raised to that baseline?

because if so, this saves me a lot of time recasting spells

and if not, i've got some time on my hands to build up and up!

does anyone know about this? I've never got why to spend time building things like open or trigger above 70 or so, for example - tend to concentrate on my fire darts and the like instead

Resurrecting another necro-thread.

Spell skills and the magic skill are the two stats that do not get bumped up to minimum levels in Quest for Glory 4. This is actually important for going into QFG5, by the way. Any spell that doesn't have at least a skill of 50 is essentially forgotten, which means it's important to grind you early, early spells up to at least 50. It doesn't take long in QFG4 to do this, so don't panic.
