Running QG2 Remake on Android

#1 Post by Billetwound » Tue Nov 26, 2013 1:51 am

Hey everyone. Been trying to figure something out. I have a Asus Transformer Tablet running the Android operating system ( I.C.S.) and have been playing QFG2 on it. Wanted to know if anyone else has goofed around with this or not. I keep running into random crashes, expecially while fighting the Pizza Elemental. And Also while trying to click the extra icon bar for selecting Run/sneak/Char Sheet/Time day. it won't let you click it unless you are fast enough with 2 fingers to get it the pointer under the bar. Just trying to figure it out and see if anyone has answers. Thanks :)

I'm having the same issue.

Changing AGS' cursor mode so that it acts like a touchpad (swipe to move cursor) instead of a touchscreen (touch where you want to click) works, but is clunky. It would be really nice to see a workaround in the game itself, or in the Android port of the AGS engine.

Also, almost none of the keyboard commands work on Android. I've tried with both a software keyboard and a physical bluetooth keyboard.

It's all such a shame, because the ability to play in pure point-and-click mode makes for a better mobile experience than the original QfG2. I just beat QfG1VGA using DOSBox Turbo (I would have used ScummVM, except that DOSBox Turbo supports MT-32 emulation, which sounds vastly better than ScummVM's Adlib/OPL emulation).
