I'm surprised no-one has mentioned finding any Easter eggs yet!

Oh my God, I'm so excited you have no idea. It's downloading now and I can hardly stand the wait.

Of course not! Easter's not until April 24 this year...

You're 2 months early, AGD2!

(Or are you AGC2? After being here for a couple of years, I just noticed your name variant in the forums for the first time...)

I've always used the same username "Anonymous Game Creator 2" since I registered. But I guess "Developer" and "Creator" became interchangeable, otherwise we'd be known as AGC Interactive. I could probably change it in the Admin panel without any trouble, but... meh...

AGC can still work as "Adventure Gamer Chris." :lol

Totally agree! I felt the same way. When we were working on the game, I really wanted the title screen and menu options to be done the KQ6 way (except it had to be less crowded - luckily, KQ3's subtitle is shorter than KQ6's!), so I created that title screen interface. Behind-the-scenes story... Between various original placeholders and the complete Eriq Chang interface, I had taken a full pass at the interface, and that title screen and its interface is what's left of the version I did - it's still in the game, right guys? LOL, I don't remember.

Another interesting behind-the-scenes note - the original title screen (as seen in KQ6) had the black bar running along the top. That always annoyed me! Any non-game screens (game screen having the status bar at the top, of course), should be full screen, without a black bar there. Stretching the original art would be unthinkable, so I drew in the missing top part, so that the title screen would be full screen.

I can't wait for everyone to play the game! I haven't played any of the final builds, so I'll be enjoying it again along with everyone else on release day!
Are there still any screenshots of your WIP icon bar? I'd love to see them. :)

I'm amazed at the level of restraint and care it must have taken to keep this under wraps. The current tendency is to raise expectations with hype, then let people down in the end. AGDI has shown it can manage two approaches:

* Produce a lot of hype, then produce an amazing result. (QfG2)
* Produce no hype, and surprise us with an excellent remake. (KQ3R)

I dislike the idea that creators should be hassled while they're making a game, except by their chosen alpha and beta testers. There's an Internet culture of entitlement that says that we all have to know what everybody is doing, all the time, and it stifles experimentation.

Not quite a million, sorry! :p

We currently have 24,332 downloads, which means things are starting to slow down. Hopefully we get featured in some additional websites and/or magazines to help spread the word. Of course, word of mouth is great as well! Tell all your friends! :D

Speaking of spreading the word, Al Lowe gave us a plug in his CyberJoke3000 email this morning. Hopefully that will attact new people that may be fans of Sierra / Al Lowe that may not be aware of us.

Sean Nichols asked me to help spread the word: AGDinteractive has released King's Quest III Redux: To Heir is Human, a Roberta Williams game that Bob Heitman and I programmed a quarter-century ago. Josh Mandel and Lori Cole contributed voiceovers to the new version. It has much-improved graphics, audio, and more!

Heh. Too bad we can't count the gaming magazines who usually put our games on their DVDs.

If they put them on DVD's, nobody would bother coming here to download 'em, though. >D

Yeah. Unfortunately they will do it. Quite a few did it with QfG2.

It is interesting that the Mac version of KQ3 has been downloaded more times than the Mac versions of any of the other games.

Looks like I'm late to the party again! :lol I had totally forgotten about you guys, real life and all, and as I was going through my CD collection I spot a KQII+ and decided to find ya'll again. I was not disappointed to say the least! :eek It was like Christmas in August. :)

I just want to hand out some kudos for the music, the meticulous details of the sound, doors shutting, house creaking etc. and the voice acting. Superb sound on my brand new Logitech G35 headset! After figuring out the screen res, I now enjoy it on my 24" WS monitor. I've only played it for some 10 minutes as it's late here, 1AM, so I can't comment yet on the game but it looks really promising.

I've read most of this thread and I agree to the secrecy that was held by all, really surprising actually given the length of time and human nature. It was a real PITA to read/get through all those "When is it coming?' posts on your other projects and I can only imagine how the mods ever kept their composure seeing this crap day in and day out. I salute you! Another job well done IMO!

I will play the IA version too but I won't make any comparisons either as that would be pointless as was stated so often in previous posts, I'll just enjoy it.;) I thought I'd at least post this before going to dreamland. |I Thanks all.
