Manannan's portrait

OK, is the portrait of "old" Manannan a reference to "The Portrait Of Dorian Gray"?affebaffe wrote:After transforming Manannan into a cat his picture on the wall turns black.
Clicking the mouth icon on it, it goes “Meow!†back at you once.
Even though he appears to be quite ancient, Gwydion wonders if Manannan was ever young after looking at the portrait.
Add to that, once Manannan is transformed, his portrait disappears along with him...
...OR...
...Is that fact that Manannan gets transformed into a housecat mean that Manannan the Cat is now too short and out of frame to be properly shown on the portrait (as housecats are so much smaller than humans)?
