Funny moments discovered in KQ3R (Spoiler)

#1 Post by calvinfoo » Tue Mar 08, 2011 5:42 am

Many funny moments I've discovered in KQ3R, seriously, the AGD Team really did a great job to include all these great moments, really unexpected, awesome touch ups. Much cooler than original KQ3.

Warning: Spoiler ahead, do not read it until you "think" you've done quite enough with the game.

1. Irritates Manannan by sitting next to him while he is waiting to be served
2. Irritates Manannan by standing in front of the telescope until he turns you to a snail
3. Wake Manannan while he is sleeping
4. Excerise punishments with YMCA songs
5. Kick the cat (the funniest of all, the animation is awesome, how alex kicks the cat, cat jumps, screams, landed upside down, shakes head, looks confused, then run away. No matter how many times I redo it, I still laughed like hell)
6. Kick the cat while Manannan is around
7. Buy two drinks from Barmaid, drink until throw out

I loved the exercise and the drinking... but I hated kicking the cat... I think the graphics was great but the sound effects were too realistic for my comfort...

I would expect Alex would at least chuckles, or laugh after the kick, much like in the classic KQ3. But Alex was expressionless, kinda dissapointed actually.

I have no idea how they get the sound effects, maybe for really kicking the cat? LOL...

AGDI forgot to include "No cats were harmed in the making of King's Quest III Redux" :lol

Hey, don't be. It is just a game, don't take it seriously. A game does what a game does - doing things that you won't do normally in real life. That's the fun of playing games. If I can do that in real life, why would I play it?

Why would I play socialising, playing house - like The Sim? I have been doing that everyday!

I would expect some Alley Cat theme playing somewhere since the cat looks very alike to Alley Cat. Perhaps AGDI did use Alley Cat as one of the references? :lol

I know it's just a game and I've been accused enough of being insensitive... I've played every Sierra and Lucas Arts Adventure game (going back to the days of CGA) and some other to know but as I said just I cringe when I kick this cat... The AGDI team has done such a good job - it feels so real...

I've been enjoying adventure games, some are even voilent one, also by sierra, Dragon something... I can't remember...

I fully agree, AGDI did an awesome job on the animation... it feels so real for a small pixelised animation.

In fact, I enjoy these pixelised animation more than those fluent 3D motion captured animation, i can really see the artists and animators squeeze all their efforts within the limited pixels, and they have to hand draw it frame by frame. I really respect their efforts, much much more than anyone doing 3D motion.
