I agree, I love the changes AGDI made to the scene, inserting actual dialogue and making it feel more like the story progression that it is! Defeating the wizard is a milestone and halfway point in the game, difficult enough to achieve in the original game and made even more of a challenge in Redux! The player deserves to have a sense of accomplishment and to savor Alex's revenge, and a couple narrated messages about how "you did it!" and the wizard "won't trouble anyone anymore!" just don't cut it.

Except I would've gone even further and allowed the player a few more chances to interact with the cat-wizard, rather than have him vanish from the house after leaving the room. He could've stayed and made life around the house difficult while Alex was making the arrangements to leave the country. Canon has him gone and the house deserted by the time the author of the KQ lorebooks came and settled there, but within the time frame of the game he could still have been utilized in some fun way while the player is still in Llewdor.

I absolutely agree... I would have liked to see him wandering around the mansion getting frustrated about his inability to use his office desk, bedroom cupboards and telescope in the tower ...
... also love to torment him about his "new status" ...
... or maybe a new way to die by "accidentally" reversing the cat spell ...
