According to the latest Journal update will Kq2vga still be released in September?

It'll be released after we fix up all the bugs found in the beta testing process. We *hope* to have the beta version out by early-mid August.. but right now, several outside factors will determine the exact release date of the beta demo, which we have little control over.

We want to release a beta version that is as bug free as possible, so that our beta testers encounter fewer bugs and there are then fewer bugs for us to fix. The smoother all this goes, the sooner we can release the game to the public.

But we can't release an incomplete game as a beta version, so first, all outstanding work must be finished before we can move onto the beta testing stage. We'll let everyone know when the beta testing process is about to begin.

KQ3, definitely!! :) The best one of the series, in my opinion, both story and puzzle wise - at least by the standards of the originals (not including 5,6,7,8) .

A few new things thrown in would be nice. But it doesn't need it as desperately as KQ2 did. You would probably need to rewrite the spells, but that shouldn't be too difficult - you guys show a lot of creativity! :)

New formulas and ingredients, with different puzzles to solve to find them, would be interesting. I think it would be neat if Gwydion could access the spellbook in-game (much as he does in KQ6, perhaps?)

(does this post add my vote to the poll? I'm not sure I know how to vote properly.)

Well, I reloaded the thread and this time was given an option of voting instead of just viewing the results. I voted, but then when it displayed the results, the total number of votes hadn't changed! Do I have to register to vote?

(I would register, except I don't want to give ezboard my address, phone, etc. :( Other board systems I've been to don't require that.)

It may have just been a problem with your cache and your web browser not refreshing the page properly.

If you were allowed to vote (and were able to press the send button), then don't worry.. the data still would have been sent to the server and been included in the poll results.

I would love to see a remake of KQ 3.

Also might I suggest one that you did not put on the list. Conquest of the Longbow. Thats one of my favorites. :)

CotL is already VGA. That means it won't be remade. It's worth neither the effort nor the risk of Sierra intervention. Simply ripping and reusing the graphics in their entirety is a rather more blatant copyright infringement...

Conquest of Camelot was the SCIO one, not Longbow

Nah. If you're going to make an original game, it wouldn't make sense to use copyrighted materials (LotR name, characters, etc.) in it...besides, that's not too original.

I know all of you guys as I very love KQ3, but I think it is time to stop for a moment remading KQ's. Maybe after KQ2 will release take a break on KQ's for 2-3 months. Maybe during that time, start to remading SQ3, or PQ2, or COC, or another adventure game (and still, I voted for KQ3 remake a week ago.)

How about Zack McCracken and the Alien Mind Binders?

Or does it have to be a Sierra game??? And yes, I know youre called Tierra...And yes, I know its probably a stupid question...And yes, I am sorry if it is. ;)

Lucas Arts

#115 Post by DeLamon Interactive » Tue Aug 13, 2002 11:30 am

I think Tierra would never do a Lucas Arts game because of LA-LA (Lucas Arts-Legal Afairs) I now one game that was closed down just because a character in the background looked similer to Guybrush from Monkey Island. I would love to see the MI games remade but i won't dare ask Tierra too. Toooo risky. And when LA-LA is done with you they won't make you take down just what had them in it. They will take down your whole site. Sierra and all. By the way it better be CB:LB1. (I'd like to see LB2 remade so it will work on my computer also but thats already VGA)

Why would you like a MI remake?
The monkey games all look really good, they are in vga, are they not?

I would like to play a Tierra remake of Maniac Mansion. I have some really nice memories from that game.

Or why not Indiana Jones and the last crusade.

KQ3, they could maybe take a little break like two or three weeks off then start cracking on KQ3.

King's Quest, King's Quest, King's Quest ... Am I the only one here who's just sick to death of King's Quest? :P Geeze, there've been two KQ remakes already. Let's do something different. :)

Quest for Glory

#119 Post by Troller420 » Tue Aug 13, 2002 10:45 pm

No one here's talking about the QFG2VGA remake. IMHO it's a better series than King's Quest, more elements (day/night, character types, combat, etc.). Even in EGA, QFG2's still the best in the series in terms of story. I'm sort of surprised Sierra never remade the game themselves, as it was one of the most popular and they did a QFG1 remake.

QFG1VGA was remade because all first chapters of the various series were remade. After that, they realized that it just wasn't viable and the negative comments of many fans also kinda ruined it.

Yep. ;) At least according to the poll results!

Edit: I'm sure, Mecha Sonic, once you see what the AGDs have done with KQ2VGA, you'll be just as excited for a KQ3VGA. :)

I believe I voted for KQ3VGA too. Everyone's got their own reason, I guess. However the main reasons are probably:

- Besides Goldrush, KQ3 is one of the only AGI-games that didn't get a VGA-treatment by Sierra, Kippesoep or us. (let's leave Black Cauldron outta this, OK?)

- The way of story-telling in the SCI-games is much more sophisticated in terms of dialogue and "cut-scenes". KQ3 is more like a "rough gem" with more potential to be fine-tuned. (i.e: the game has more potential to be fleshed out, rather than being literally remade)

fleshing out KQ3

#123 Post by daeris » Wed Aug 14, 2002 2:07 am

While I don't think that KQ3 is in as desperate need of being fleshed out as KQ2 is, I would be very interested to see what you guys would add to the game.

From my own POV, although I would definitely like to see a KQ3VGA at some point, I'd rather Tierra did something else instead for their third game. I want them to be known more for remaking classic adventure games, not just remaking King's Quests. (:

So yeah, for my money, I'd say Conquests of Camelot, or (if SQ2VGA is done by this time) a SQ3VGA. Loved Space Quest 3.

Eagerly awaiting QG2VGA...
