King Quest 2 dwarf knife bridge bug!! Help!!!!!!!

Ok I have a problem and I don't know how to fix it. When I get all three gems and then I go to the bridge, get stuck and dwarf comes along and asks me for the gems I follow the walk through. I put gems in clove and toss it to the opposite side of the bridge of were the dwarf resides, we talk, dwarf gets mad but DOES NOT throw knife at me!!! So I am stuck! How can I fix this???!!! Help pls.

Are you sure you don't have the knife? Look in your inventory. You should have it after talking to him as often as you can.

Thanks for the replay.........it turns out that I hadn't talked to the dwarf as much as I could I thought I did........but I hadn't. I missed talking to him when he is walking back and forth, after clicking enough times graham says "well?" and then they have one last dialog and then he throws the knife!! thanks for your help.....I really appreciate it !
