fatal conversations

#1 Post by murdocofputs » Tue Feb 10, 2009 10:44 pm

Just about any time I talk to some one, the third thing that I say to them crashes& dumps the program.I tried it on all three classes and still the same. Here is the error report:

An internal error has occured. Contact Chris Jones (ACI version 2.72.920)
Error:run_text_script1:error -6 running functions
'dialof_request':
Error:invalid instruction 16399 found in code stream
in Global script (line 27487)

This looks like it would be a fun game if I could get to play it.
Windows xp 3, with all updated drivers.
Thanks, and let me know if there's anything that I could do to help you, or myself.

Which game?
Which NPC?
Does any dialog path do this, or only a specific one?

As it's an AGS 2.72 game with "3 classes" it must be Quest For Glory 2. He also said the problem happens with anybody, if he talks too much with them (three times).

This has to be something related to his computer, but I wonder why the error message says "dialof_request" instead of "dialog_request". Maybe a typo from murdocofputs?

Murdocofputs, did you download the most recent version of the game from the main site, or from another site? Did you change something on the winsetup program? (Assuming you did run the winsetup first)
