Error # Something wacky

#1 Post by ChickenguyA » Thu Jun 17, 2004 4:49 pm

When I tried to run QK1VGA, It took me to the menu. There I hit "New Game."
It showed the gate of the castle lower, but then it closed and an error box popped up saying,
"Exception 0x0000005 in ACWIN.EXE at EIP=0xBFF7B983 (strcpy/strcat); program pointer is +6, ACI version 2.56.631, gtags (1,2)
Ntoify CJ at the Tech Forum. (Room 2, Script Line 180)"

What does this mean and how do I get the game to work?

Sorry, I'm really not sure what the problem with this could be. I checked that line in the script that your error message refers to, but nothing seems to be out of place.

You should probably try reporting it at the AGS technical forum here:

http://www.agsforums.com/forums.shtml

Maybe the creator of the engine can tell you what the problem is.

As always, I'd suggest you ensure you have the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com Wierd things can sometimes happen when you aren't using the latest drivers.

I am facing this type of error on my device. I have recently updated it. After updating it is showing Windows 10 Preparing Automatic Repair Error. How can I fix this error?
