something's wrong with my speech pack........

#1 Post by Haley » Thu Jun 19, 2003 7:17 pm

When I talk to Possum, there's no speech, but when I quit the game there's speech when Graham talks. Can someone help me?

Is there speech in every other dialogue sequence (like talking to the merchant, etc.)? Also, when you say that Graham speaks after you quit, is it only Graham that speaks or does Possum speak also?

My only advice would be to make sure that you run the KQ2 setup again and be sure to select the option to use the voice pack, and then when you start the game be sure that the option on the bottom of the in-game system menu says either "Voice only" or "Voice + Text".

Try those out and if those don't work, tell us a bit more information.

~Wolfgang

I tried talking to the mother pumpkin, still no speech. I tried downloading the game and speech pack again, but nothing.

So you're saying that you can hear Graham's voice, but nobody else's? If you've verified all of the settings I mentioned above are correct and you've installed the speech pack in the KQ2VGA directory, it should work.

~Wolfgang

Do you have the newest version of KQ2VGA? It is very possible that the game (v 1.0) was pre-setup to support Graham's voice, but no one elses. They didn't want to remove all the code that played the voice files, so they just made another version with it. Just a guess.

---------

"Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?"
"Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?"
----------
Sponge Factory
