Installation completed, but, invalid data?

#1 Post by LadyDragon » Mon Mar 08, 2004 5:24 am

I Downloaded KQ1VGA (v3.0) and when opening the file after installation, I got this window saying "This file contains invalid data." <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :\ --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> I have searched a few pages of this forum and the FAQ's as well but did not see anything on this level. Thanks. <p></p><i></i>

This may be a case of your download being corrupted. Have you tried redownloading the file?<br><br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashu ... <!--EZCODE IMAGE END--> <p></p><i></i>

Yes. I have only tried twice though. I though about trying the other game to see if I have the same problem. I will try again later and let you know. <p></p><i></i>

Still no go....

Okay, Let me give the run down to explain everything I have done...I downloaded all 3 files for KG1VGA...they downloaded fine. I go to install and I get the error "This file contains invalid data" for ALL 3 FILES! ....I have done this 4 different download attempts on 4 different days, I got the same error for all 3 again...<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br><br>so I gave up and decided to try and download KG2VGA and the game and music pack downloaded and installed on my computer great, but unfortunately I am getting the same message for the speach pack so I have to read everything in the game. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :cry --><img src=http://www.dark-stars.net/cry.gif ALT=":cry"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br><br>Is anyone else having this problem? The files must be corrupted that I am trying to download or something...is there another link where I can download just the speak pack for KG2VGA? <p></p><i></i>

It took 10 different downloads and finally got it. The last download was at a different mirror site I noticed. <p></p><i></i>

Invalid Data

#6 Post by hejacob » Sat May 29, 2004 12:08 am

I have tried everything possible that I know of to correct this error, and even went from Windows 98 se to Windows XP Home Edition, and even used many different ISP Local Servers, and with the same results. I can only assume now that there is a problem with the data server transmitting the data, because there are just too many people having the same identical problem. No offense to AGD, but this really appears to be where the problem is located.

I will say it once for everyone, and then tonight I will put in the FAQ.

Yesterday I cleaned out all the inactive links from the mirror system. Then I checked all the files currently in the mirror system to ensure that they download and install OK, which they do. So there should be no more problems.

Hmm.... well, it may have been fixed in May, but I seem to have the same problem. All I get is a PHP file that I can't use

Are you right clicking the link and saying 'save target as'? I believe when you click the link it loads the php file which chooses a server to downlaod the games files from.

Well, I tried that, and all I get is a "file". No extension, nothing. I tried to save it manually as a .zip file, but that doesn't work either. Quite disappointing.
