Looking for AGS replacement

#1 Post by decoy_maloon » Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:59 pm

Hi,

was wandering if there is another free engine or studio that do the same thing as AGS do but improve some of its weaknesses.

I would like AGS to be portable (development tool and games) on other OS, faster and with a larger available resolution...
maybe an open source project...

Thanks,

Decoy

I'd suggest starting here but I can't be more helpful past that, I'm afraid.

I worked a bit with MAD engine, but nowadays it isn't updated, it's buggy and doesn't have AGS equivalent good and useful tools. So I can't really recommend it.

I haven't a great experience in engines, but I've heard AGS is the best actually in the market, althought it can be limited or too static sometimes. Of course the best option is create a game design for YOUR game design, but that demands a team with programming skills and time.

For the most part, AGS is really only limited to the boundaries of your own creative scripting abilities.
