Crappy quality is the very definition of "fan game."

Nonsense. A fangame is what the team working on it puts into it. No more, no less.

Actually the definition of fangame is countless hours of work without compensation, for the benefit of "appreciative" fans. >D

Great looking game Corby! I especially like that town screen....very immersive!

See, I wouldn't call AGDI's remakes "Fan-Games". Fan games, to me, are an almost interactive version of "fan-fiction", which is usually the bottom of the barrel, creatively. Though KQ2+ borders on that with it's own original story, (being Fan-Fiction) the quality of the story is leaps above some of the crap I've read on the internet.

There ARE a lot of crappy "fan-games" out there, but there's a nugget of gold every so-often. If you have the right bunch of people, you'll make something good. Sticking with the project, though, is the hardest part. It takes time to make a good game, and most people don't want to put in the required time.

This game looks really promising. The backgrounds, and especially the main character sprite, are really rendered beautifully - near commercial quality stuff here.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that I hope you guys finish this project. It looks like loads of fun.

yes, yes, this looks very great, and promising. And Blackthorne, very, very well put, I think that AGD (and you guys) did far beyond fan games!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll try to be more sycophantic in the future.

EDIT: Look. I've played so many AGS games, other fanmade games and seen countless more: not including AGDI, IA or Yahtzee's work, I've played three - THREE - that were any good. For those who are curious, those're Murder in a Wheel, Adventure: The Inside Job and Gesundheit! When all you've got to show for your work is "look I ripped and slightly edited a bunch of other people's work" and "look I'm using someone else's concept only it's a girl", you'll have to forgive me if I'm simply not impressed. Oz, you'll also have to forgive me (heavy on the sarcasm here, because obviously you don't, that's what being people with different opinions is all about), but I don't care what you think, I don't know you and you just don't matter to me. 123blah, you're a sycophant in the worst way. That's fine, everybody needs somebody sometime, but you aren't going to change my mind. If you don't think I'm entitled to my opinions, well, that's just your opinion.

As an aside, I wasn't going to bother explaining myself, but as you folks read too much into, well, everything, I thought maybe it would be best. Carry on.

If you don't mind me saying, I have NO problem with "stealing" ideas and concepts from Quest for Glory, because QFG fans want (gasp!) a game that looks, plays, and feels like QFG! 8))
