3D Adventure/FPS Engine.

#1 Post by Code Master » Tue Feb 15, 2005 3:59 pm

I am looking for a 3D Adventure/FPS that is free and does not need a certain game to run it, like the doom3 engine, crytek sandbox, etc.

Please list the engine you know here.

Thank you.

I am already aware of Wintermute, judged on what I've seen it is not a full 3D engine.

Well, you asked me to list the engine you know, and so I did. I believe if you were to make an adventure game, Wintermute would be sufficient. For an FPS, probably not - you'd be advised to take the halflife or doom/3 engine instead, system specs permitting. Of course you can always write your own, there are plenty of books about the subject.

I would write my own engine but I lake the skill to actually write a full 3D engine. I will look into the Source engine. Thank you for your help.

Anymore help would be greatly apprechiated. Third person engines are welcome too.  ;)

Ya know, from that tone - I was gonna say that it was Rog.

The overall tone just "felt" like it.

Maybe they should all get the same custom title so that people will recognize him?

So anybody know of any 3D adventure game engines? I've been going around the net and found nothing I was thinking something like JA & Kotor where you see the back of the character and tell him what to do with keyboard and mouse.
