Why do you play adventure games?

This is kind of cliche question in an adventures forum, but I'd like to know what do you have to say about it.

Because they're my favourite type of games to play!

I like the stories, character development and puzzles which you don't find in most other games.

Poll-less thread is poll-less.

Anyway, I like to think. And I like the time and effort that goes into them. Soundtracks especially. If it's an entertaining and engaging story/concept it usually wins me over.

Yea, its almost a dead cert that if its an Adventure or RPG type game that a lot of work has gone into it compared say to a movie port and usually the music in Adventure/RPG games freaking rock!!

I like it for the story. And multiple story paths are also a plus, it gives more replay value. :D

The only people who can write adventure games are people who write well. That's why I like them. I like the in references and the other comedy as well as the actual "must think" gameplay. If I get stuck in an adventure game it's because I haven't thought it through or I missed a key element somewhere. If I get stuck in Halo it's because I can't find a door.
