I agree. Pity the game was buggy. Hated those.

I've always thought 'The 7th Guest' had the best atmosphere.

The sequel was one of the worst sequels every though.

Oh! The puzzles weren't all that good, but I really liked the cryptic riddles.

You know what they say: "Never judge a prequel, by its sequel". :p

I actually voted for Neverhood!

"My name is Klogg. Everything you see here is MINE to do with as I so desire and I desire for all of this to be yours! All you have to do is wear the odornment of a king----this, the Neverhood crown! You know where this baby goes, so let us make our decision, shall we?"

I voted for Day of the Tentacle, although I could've easily voted for Sam & Max Hit the Road as well.

It's too bad the Sam & Max sequel was cancelled. It's also very bad they cancelled Full Throttle sequel. Together with the fact that the upcoming Star Wars Episode 4-6 DVDs will not be the original and unenhanced versions, I am currently not a big fan of George Lucas right now. >:

I also enjoyed Myst, Gabriel Knight: the Sins of the Fathers, the Tex Murphy series, Twinsen's Odyssey (from 2000), The Longest Journey, the two late 80s Sierra adventure games called Manhunter: San Francisco and Manhunter: New York, and some other ones too.

Personally I would include Space Quest 5 instead of Space Quest 4 in the poll (or at least include it as well) . I think Space Quest 5 is much better. It contains less severe bugs (make the game unplayable on modern system or crashes for example) , mostly some glitches. Also I think the story, graphics, music and sounds are better. But that is just my opinion.

I think the only speed related problem that makes Space Quest 5 unplayable is the part where you need to resque Cliffy with some sorf of pod after he drifted into space... BTW: There are at least two Space Quest 5 versions I have seen. One is full of bugs. The other which I have (version 1.04) contains far less bugs.

For me it would be QFG4.

QFG1 was great, and so was QFG2. What can I say... I'm a Quest for Glory maniac. :D

MI2, imho.

And I think the same poll should be hosted on a site that does LucasArts game remakes, just to get a less biased comparison :)

There's a 3 way tie in my book for best adventure game, and they are King's Quest 6, Leisure Suit Larry 6, and Legend of Kyrandia 3. But since only KQ6 was up there, the final decision wasn't hard for this poll. ^_^ Runners up include King's Quest 2 (tierra remake) Monkey Island 3, and Legend of Kyrandia 1.

From the sounds of it, seems like I need to find myself a copy of Grim Fandango.
