There are a few glaring bugs that should not have made it past the playtesters. Read through the bug forum and you'll see some of them.

There will always be glitches in a game, no matter how often it's playtested. KQ1VGA 3.0 was tested quite extensively by several people. I'm talking about the obvious script bugs, not hardware issues. That bug should have been caught by the playtesters. Yeah, the cabin thing is probably the 1st thing that would be looked into were we to do a new version.<br><br>I have a sneaking suspicion that one snuck in during the later phases of the testing process.<br><br>It isn't fixing the thing that's the issue. Like I said, it's not fixing the errors that's the problem. It's a simple matter of changing a 196 somewhere to a 240 and a 33 to a 66.

If we would ever decide to re-release the game, even for the purpose of adding an adapted intro, those issues WILL be gone.

As it stands, there's very little we can do without having to recompile another version and spread it to everyone.

So what's the possibility? Tierra owes it to themselves (to say nothing of the fans) to make it as well as they can. Is there even a chance of a re-release someday?

I remember a poll that asked if I trusted Tierra to make adventure games or somesuch. Can you imagine how I voted? No offense, but if you can't give it at least 99%, why bother? While I'm on the subject, do you need a thorough and competent playtester?

Anyway, good luck in the future.

AGDI doesn't owe fans anything, the games they remade were given out free with no payment expected or even wanted. Do you really think they didn't give 99%? If so then I advise you to look up a game called eXtreme Paintball. A game a development group was PAID to create that ended up being total shit, thats just one example. AGDI took in no profit from either of the KQ games but still did an example job, equal to any other Sierra games out there.

So the next time you want to complain about a free game then please, look in the mirror and start bashing your head on the sink. Hopefully by then common sense will leak in and you will realize the extent of your stupidity.

On the other hand, if you don't think the game is perfect, then do something about it yourself. Remake it the way YOU would like it.

That does involve doing something other than bitching though.

Like I said before, there's a slight possibility that when we create a new intro animation to reflect the new name (that's not the case yet), we MAY compile it into KQ1VGA and KQ2VGA, just for consistency's sake. And um...the errors you're talking about aren't exactly error 52. Yes, it's annoying when you bump into it and it's very unfortunate that they slipped through, but once you know they're there, they're easy to circumvent. You don't end up outside a walkable area 100% of the time you enter the woodcutter's cottage screen from the swampy lake. If you exit the swampy lake screen at the top center, Graham will walk farther into the screen than usual (that's the cause of the bug...he's supposed to appear at y=240, but he appears at y=196 thus movecharacterdirecting farther up than he should), but he won't get stuck.

I think you misread that poll. The poll referred more to the fact that we finish what we start, rather than whether we'd be willing to reupload our game each time there's a bug reported. For your information, I think 99% is quite an accurate estimate, seeing that the to-do list for version 3.0 was massive indeed.
While I'm on the subject, do you need a thorough and competent playtester?
And err....no, we don't need a beta tester, because there's nothing to test at the moment. If you're interested in the position, please apply when we announce we're in need of testers.

If you don't like the game, you are more than welcome to delete it from your computer.

If AGDI decides to release another version of the game, we will. If not, you should be thankful we took the time to do what we did.

Yes, clearly the whole endeavor is meaningless, clearly no one could possibly get any enjoyment out of the game, clearly no one could be even mildly impressed by KQ1VGA. After all, it has one (non-fatal, easily avoidable) bug.

Why bother indeed? Jeez, the AGDs sure are an embarrassment to the fangame community! How about showing some commitment for once? Flitting about from project to project without ever really finishing any of them. You could learn something from Jodo Kast: That's a guy who keeps focused and won't release his game until it's absolutely perfect (however long that will take). Tell you what: Until KQ1VGA is 100% bug free, don't even bother releasing QFG2VGA. No one is interested.

Why should I attempt to remake it when they came so close? A quick change here and there and *poof* it will be worthy of it's accolades.
