What game would you like to see remade in VGA?

#1 Post by Blackthorne519 » Wed Jul 21, 2004 3:22 pm

Okay - this poll has been done before, many times no doubt, but I'm curious after reading a very old, 27 page thread on remakes.

Now, this is not to say that AGDI would make these remakes, it's just what you would like to see remade, by anyone who has the gumption to do so.

Now I have mostly included Sierra games in this poll; I think most Lucasarts games were updated into VGA by themselves, or were done by ardent fans (MMDeluxe, for example). However, there are a few adventure games done by other companies, which sadly I am not as familiar with. If anyone thinks of any, please let me know.

Bt

I also wanted to add MANHUNTER, and for curiosity Wizard and Princess and Mystery House........ alas, it said I had too many poll options.

I voted for Laura Bow 1. The original was surprisingly scary, and I'm interested in seeing how the remake would turn out.

I would like to see Kings Quest 4 remade myself. It had a nice original charm, and I don't think EGA really did it justice with what they were trying to do with it.
I actually never got to play Laura Bow, I've heard a little about it
I think I'll use some time and go look it up.

SQ2, but in the same manner as KQ2VGA. SQ2's the least of the bunch in terms of storyline. Just like the original KQ2.

I thought SQ2's basic story-line was pretty right on. I still would love to see a VGA remake done with it, though.

Maybe I'll do it. I'm Superman. Wait, no. I can barely use a mouse.

Will somebody PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEE REMAKE IT?

Please?

Okay, now I'm being silly.

Anyway, I think SQ2 would be a good remake.

Mystery House. Heh, maybe it's the only adventure game that really deserves a remake. I don't know any other graphic adventures from 1980...

Nice pic, Blackthorne; did you base that off a real house or just do it from scratch with the old line graphics as a guide?

I did both things. I used a couple of Victorian Mansion Pics, and the original line drawing, and made a mish-mash until I made something that I thought would look like it.

BT, do you have any last words before you meet your maker?!?

I'll make it short: you're not our "captain" anymore. Every week you try to start a new project. Last week it was the LB1 Remake, this week Mystery House. What will be the next one? Now you revealed our secret project. It's the last straw that breaks the camel's back. I have formed an own team with some former IA-members. You and the rest of your team can have all the QfI-art and scripts, while we take all the KQ3-material. Have a nice day.

I suspect you're trying to be funny, but like Swift obviously noticed as well, it ain't really working. I took part in and enjoyed the Black Cauldron / Prydain Chronicles discussions.

That's my provider's name, although I could swear I was connected to their server in Eindhoven, rather than Apeldoorn.

I don't get the punch line of that post yet, but I'm certain someone will explain it to me sooner or later.

Interesting. No posts about COCamelotVGA, but it's the leading 'request' right now.

I would love to work on that game, but it is too much for me at this stage. If I remember correctly that game is HUGE! Quite a bit more body than a KQ game anyways.

That's because the image is blurred because only a few people have voted.

I would like to see Kings Quest III remade. Space Quest III would be my second choice.
