Should Space Quest 6 be remade to be in the style of SQ5, plus new story lines?

Yeah, that sounds like a cool idea!

Should Space Quest 6 be remade?

#1 Post by Alliance » Thu Aug 12, 2004 12:25 pm

Well, I was considering redoing SQ6 with VGA graphics, a better story line, and more intelligent puzzles. I just don't think Sierra's SQ6 was very good. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't have that classical feeling. I mean who wants to see Roger as a cartoon character? That's stupid!

I don't know. I think SQ6 is good just the way it is. Wasn't so fun as SQ3 and 5 (my personel favourites) but it had awesome humour. I say, keep sq6 just the way it is.

Well, I didn't like Space Quest 6 very much because the graphics sucked. They looked like a crappy Saturday morning cartoon. Besides, it would be much better in the style of Space Quest 5. Plus, I might add some new things to the storyline. I don't know what yet, but I'll think of something.

Uh... weren't the graphics BETTER than VGA?

I meant the sprites. I want to make it in the style of SQ5.

I liked Space Quest 6. I thought the cartoon graphics were great. Sure, they're different, but they were still good.

Space Quest 5 was one of the best Sierra adventures but Space Quest 6 was pure s***. Stupid puzzles, pixel hunting and KQ7 graphics. It doesn't deserve a remake. Make a new Space Quest in SQ4/SQ5-style instead.

I don't know much about SQ6, I never played it. But if it is anything like what KQ7 is compared to KQ6, then yes it should be remade. KQ7 was just mediocre whereas KQ6 was very good.

(in general, people new to forums tend to reply to some older threads, but none of the ones he replied to was really aged, so it's not really necromancy)

I was careful not to reply to anything older than about a month. Perhaps posts older than a month or two month should be automatically deleted if replying to old messages is really such a big deal? I try to prevent doing it myself though.

EDIT:
Oh, and I recently deleted one of my own messages :o :o :o
I thought I found a bug in KQI VGA but I turned out to be wrong.
Would some one trying to increase his post count delete his own messages? :lol All right, I admit it, I was increasing my post count...

It wasn't meant to be a joke. Check this page for the official definition. Be sure to check the other pages too, they had me laughing out loud. The scary thing is that the descriptions are actually quite accurate. I've seen so many posters who fit certain descriptions to the letter.

(and keep the enfant provocateur and perv off the darn forums while you're at it)

Don is a necromancer of sorts from what I see haha just kidding you. Space Quest 6 was great I thought. Much like my QFG5 though the CD just refuses to play my game! I've played 4 5 and 6 and they were all equal.....except for the copy protection in 4. I have the manual and can't figure out how to get past it STILL! >: (first time I've used that emotion neat)

I love all of the games really, I just think SQ6 had more potential, but it was a hell of a funny game.

WE LOVE YOU GARRY OWENS!!! :lol

The graphics and the (..Yuck!..) Voice acting was much better in SQ5. SQ4 and 5 had a well designed, clean interface. The game itself was so-so.
Creating a new Space Quest would be better indeed, but it's a tall order!

You mean the fact that there wasn't any?

Yeah, SQ5 had no voice acting.

To answer the poll, no.
